Dear Stoneview Elementary School Families,

At Stoneview, we are proud to have a dynamic Media Center team dedicated to nurturing a love of reading and supporting the academic growth of every student. Our Media Specialist and Library Media Assistant work together to ensure that students have access to exciting books, meaningful literacy experiences, and a welcoming space that encourages curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Our Media Specialist leads the way in helping students discover new genres, build strong reading habits, and develop the research and technology skills they need to thrive academically. Our Library Media Assistant provides daily support by helping students locate books they love, managing library resources, and ensuring that the Media Center is a warm, inviting environment for all learners. Together, they play a vital role in helping our students grow as confident, capable readers.

We also want to emphasize the importance of daily reading. Research shows that when students read consistently, their vocabulary expands, their comprehension deepens, and their overall academic achievement increases. To help reinforce these skills, we encourage all students to document their reading each day using their Beanstack reading log. Beanstack is an easy-to-use digital platform that allows students to track their minutes, set reading goals, and celebrate their progress.

By reading daily and logging their minutes in Beanstack, students build accountability, strengthen reading stamina, and develop habits that support success across all content areas.
