A Message From The Principal

May 30, 2025

Dear Stoneview Elementary School Families:

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the principal of Stoneview Elementary School. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such amazing students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this wonderful school and to have the chance to support our students and families.

I have spent over 16 years in the DeKalb County School District, working with students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching middle school grades 6th – 8th, serving as an elementary math academic coach, and assistant principal at both the elementary and middle school levels. Most recently, I served as the interim principal at Stoneview Elementary since February 2025. I am excited that I can continue this journey by stepping into the role as the permanent principal! I will bring all these experiences with me and collaborate with each of you to ensure the success of our students.

My primary goal is to focus on increasing student achievement and doing whatever it takes to help ALL students succeed and enjoy coming to school each day. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and that elementary school should lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. As a graduate of Lithonia High School, I am committed to the Lithonia community. I am happy to serve in the community I once lived and thrived academically.

I am also committed to exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to fostering effective communication with parents and community members. I am excited to partner with all stakeholders to ensure our students receive a meaningful and challenging educational experience.

In closing, please know that my door is always open. Feel free to email, call, or stop by anytime. I welcome your positive input, and together, let’s keep our students as the primary focus of our work. We can! We will! We must succeed!

Educationally Yours,
Keisha N. Battle, Ph.D.
Principal
